FormFire has two new bright and creative employees, Gordon Hardy and Lauren Nichols. Here's a little background info and their answers to three questions. GORDON HARDY: UX/UI DESIGNER Gordon joins us as our first full-time employee dedicated to the look and feel of our software products. He joins us with a strong background in the group benefits industry, where he lead a product design team. Favorite book: Catcher in the Rye because of the layers of symbolism, the conversational style, and for Holden Caulfield, since he’s a cool dude and I like books about cool dudes. Favorite movie: Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks did an amazing job and it’s about a simple man with simple principles going on extraordinary adventures. Trivia Tidbits: I played bass in a four-man band where we performed at bars and benefits in the Des Moines, Iowa area. We did mostly covers, but there were a handful of original songs, too. I also took 9 years of French, but I’ve yet to experience my James Bond moment where it comes in handy and saves the day. Currently I enjoy photography, riding my motorcycle, and giving my Dad a hard time for being a Browns fan while he does the same because I’m a Bengals fan. LAUREN NICHOLS: CUSTOMER SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE & RECEPTIONIST Lauren began her FormFire career as a temporary customer service representative, helping us get through the spike in call volume around the holidays. Her quick wit and strong technical aptitude made us want to keep her around, so she’s joined us full time. Favorite book: I love the Song of Ice & Fire series by George R.R. Martin, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, and pretty much any historical nonfiction. I’m also a massive Harry Potter nerd. Favorite movie: The Godfather is my top-rated movie, easily. I have loads of other favorites (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Alien, Harold & Maude, Cabin in the Woods, etc.) but The Godfather is one of those special movies that makes you sit in stunned silence as the credits roll. Trivia Tidbits: I’ve won awards for my pottery, won enemies for my comedy writing, and I sleep upside-down like a bat. I won 3rd place in the 2010 Student Art Show at Baldwin Wallace and proceeded to win Best in Show the following year (despite being a history major). I was the Editor-in-Chief of a humor magazine at BW all four years of college and we ended up poking fun at every organization on campus. Unfortunately, the bat part isn’t true (it’d be cool if it was, though).
